BugLand™ with Ladybird Larvae
Your larvae have arrived in their special transport tube with all of the food they need to transform into Ladybirds, but first they need to be transferred to their new home! To place them into the BugLand™ complete the following steps:
- Tilt the base up and remove the magnification cap.
- Be very careful not to shake the contents of the tube onto the sponge in the volcano.
- Gently shake the contents of the tube (the ladybird larvae, food, and paper strips) on to the landscape of the habitat.
- Once the ladybird larvae are in the BugLand™, put the habitat in a safe place away from direct sunlight, heat sources or drafts.
Large Ladybird Growing Kit (Adalia Box)
Inside the kit you will have a colourful instruction guide from the supplier, we have also added an A4 quick start guide for you.
Once your kit arrives, cut out the lined section marked on the white paper and fold to make an accordion, and place in the bottom of the breeding tub. Empty the larvae and food (in the cassette) onto the paper in the bottom and secure the lid, now all you need to do is sit back and observe! Their food is the part that looks like sand!
The cycle is around 21-28 days in total and the larvae should be left undisturbed as much as possible during this time. Throughout the cycle the larvae will grow and shed multiple times, eventually becoming a nymph before emerging as a ladybird. Please read the instruction guide for more details on the cycle so you know what to expect at each stage as sometimes they can appear dead but just need a little more time.
