When ordering your insects and preparing for your project, please consider the following:
Timings
Order at a time that allows you to observe and enjoy the entire life cycle of your live insects. Plan for any school breaks, holidays or extended weekends that might interrupt your project.
You must be prepared to watch over your caterpillars on a daily basis. Keep in mind that you will release your butterflies between 3 to 5 weeks after you receive your live shipment.
Insects orders where a dispatch date is required will still be dispatched on that date even if a faster shipping service is used at check-out.
Insect orders with no dispatch date required will normally ship within 1-2 working days.
Tracking and Delivery
Once your online order has shipped, a dispatch email will be sent to you overnight containing a tracking link (UK orders only). That way, you can know exactly where your insects are as they head to their new home. You must be available to open the package containing your live insects on the day they arrive.
Delivery within the UK is on average 1-3 working days for Royal Mail, 7-10 working days for non-UK addresses.
If you have upgraded your shipping, this is normally a Next Day service from dispatch, unless otherwise advised at the time of selecting.
In Case of Extreme Weather
During extreme weather, it may be necessary to delay shipping our insects for their protection. We will always aim to contact you as soon as we know of any delay.
